Henry Ford
Henry Ford was born in Dear born, Michigan on July 30,1863. In his early years, he became an machinist's apprentice in Detroit at only the age of 16. From 1888 to 1889, he was a mechanical engineer, later becoming the chief engineer. In 1903, Ford completed one of his first automobiles. Since the depression was coming near, many of his workers were quitting their jobs. Ford was very upset with what was happening. When old workers left, he had to take the time to train the new workers, which slowed down business and lost a lot of money. So he came up with a solution, instead of paying his workers $2.00 a week, he more than doubled it to $ 5.00 a week! Many people thought he was crazy, but it gave him a lot of business for his extraordinary cars that he and his workers constructed together. In 1927 he discontinued the Model T car due to more up to date models of cars. After they discontinued that Ford made new types of cars that when they discontinued that they had made over fifteen million cars! In early 1941 during WW1 ford ad his workers were asked to help make bombs, then later air fighting planes. During the war there were some technical difficulties along the road. After the war ford and his company had made over eight thousand planes. Therefore ford was a big help to the American government and created many cars, planes, and bombs. He was a big help during the depression. He affected people because he made new tenolegies for people to use.
